Learning Intentions

• We will learn how our effort during a unit impacts our success on the summative assessment.

• We will learn how to identify the claim, evidence and reasoning portions of a conclusion about a table and graph.

• We will learn how to make a strong claim about a pattern seen in tables and graphs

• We will learn how to provide appropriate evidence to support a claim.

• We will learn how to connect evidence to a claim through reasoning in an explanation.

You can reflect on your effort in class and impact on your learning and success on assessments.

You can make a claim, provide evidence and explain your reasoning for patterns in both tables and graphs.

Content Standards being covered:

Students can use the periodic table as a model to predict the relative properties of elements based on the patterns of electrons in the outermost energy level of atoms.

Student understands why bonding occurs between atoms, what types of bonds form when different elements interact, how the bonds form and properties that arise as result of the bond forming.
