Body Systems Book

Objective: To create an interactive, fun, engaging, fact filled book that teaches the reader about a body system through a variety of methods.

Organ Systems:

Circulatory Digestive Endocrine Excretory Immune/Lymphatic Muscular Nervous Respiratory Skeletal Reproductive

Needs to include:

General information about structure and function (can relate function to other things that do a similar job) of the parts of the system. Include all organs, tissues and cells that makes up the system. (4 points)
Labeled internal and external diagrams (can be hand made or cut out from another resource) of the complete system as well as as least one from a smaller part. (4 points)
At least 5 interesting random facts about the system that most people don't know. (5 points)
At least 3 factors that cause the system to break down or not work properly. (3 points)
At least 3 factors that help the system to get stronger or work most efficiently. (3 points)
How the system looks in at least four different types of organisms. (4 points)
At least 2 different current scientific research experiments/projects about the system, including what was studied and what was discovered. (4 points)
An engaging activity/experiment to teach the reader about how the system works in their own body. (4 points)
A works cited page using proper MLA format (5 points)
At least 4 flaps to lift, doors to slide, wheels to spin, various textures to feel or some other interactive aspect for the reader to engage in and learn from (can not all be the same). (4 points)
An overall general appeal due to neatness/legibility, creativity, organization, and color. (5 points)
All written parts must be in complete sentences except labels on diagrams.

When books are completed, we will be taking them to the preschool and read/present them the books to teach them about the systems in our body. :) (5 points)
